Stress Management in the Workplace
2.5 Hour Course - Max of 12 Participants
Overview Stress is a growing concern in our complex modern world which places increasing demands on the individual. Prolonged high stress levels are linked to a number of adverse health effects such as cardiovascular disease, gastrointestinal disorders, depression, anxiety and mental illness. Workplaces have a considerable influence on their employees’ stress levels. The high costs of employee stress to Australian employers are expressed through decreased morale, increasing fatigue levels and higher accident rates in the workplace, leading to absenteeism, lost productivity, and employee replacement.
Course Aims In this stress management training course, participants will learn to understand and indentify the causes of 'triggers' of stress. Participants will learn to understand and identify the causes or ‘triggers’ of stress. The course also discusses the immediate and prolonged consequences of stress and provides participants with a range of coping strategies and techniques to prevent and reduce stress in their work and personal lives. Participants will learn to deal with stressors in a positive and healthy manner
